No Sad Sandwiches: 5 Restaurants That Elevate Meeting-Day Catering

Whether you’re hosting a team strategy session, wooing a client, or running an all-hands brainstorm, good food makes any meeting better (and keeps everyone focused). That’s why we asked our team at ExecuBusiness Centers to dish on their favorite local spots for next-level meeting-day catering.

Here are five Charlotte-area restaurants we personally recommend for fresh, flavorful, and crowd-pleasing eats—each one close to our center and tested by our team.

1. Peno Mediterranean Grill

2115 E Arbors Dr #190, Charlotte, NC
penogrill.com

Fresh, fast, and wildly flavorful, Peno is our go-to for Mediterranean food with a personal touch. Their chicken shawarma and gyros are favorites for a reason, and the staff is known for being warm and friendly. The menu is perfect for building your own bowls or platters, making it an easy win for groups with different tastes. Added bonus: it’s less than a mile from EBC.

2. CAVA

8936 J M Keynes Dr, Charlotte, NC
cava.com

Yes, it’s a national brand, but hear us out. One of our team members, Kelsey, came up with the perfect custom bowl combo, and now we all order it. The Build Your Own Greens + Grains catering spread is a healthy and satisfying option for teams who want fresh and flavorful food without the food coma. Plus, everyone gets to make it their way (but seriously—try it Kelsey’s way).

3. Basilico Italiano

10020 Edison Square Dr NW, Concord, NC
basilicoitaliano.com

A local favorite with a loyal following and one of the most satisfying lunch options around. This family-owned spot serves up hearty wraps, fresh salads, and authentic Italian fare that feels homemade. The chicken Caesar wrap might just be the best in Charlotte (we’re not the only ones who think so; ask a few local influencers), and their Instagram is worth a follow. Perfect for making lunch feel a little more like dinner, in a good way.

4. Viva Chicken

8694 Concord Mills Blvd, Concord, NC
vivachicken.com

Need something fast, fresh, and slightly unexpected? Try Peruvian. Viva Chicken is a fan favorite for flavorful rotisserie chicken, vibrant sides, and sauces that steal the show (the yellow sauce is a MUST). Their catering options work great for groups and add a little global flair to your meeting day.

5. First Watch

8825 Christenbury Pkwy Ste 20, Concord, NC
firstwatch.com

Fresh is the keyword for First Watch! It may not have an official catering menu, but this super popular breakfast and brunch spot is open early enough to order and pick up breakfast for a meeting. Our co-founders Bob and Susan love it here (Bob swears by the huge, flavor-packed Cobb Salad), and their rotating seasonal menu is always on trend. They also have a solid sandwich selection, box lunch-style.

Hungry yet?

These local favorites bring something extra to the conference-room table. And since they’re all close to ExecuBusiness Centers, pickup or delivery is quick and easy.
